Why am I like this?
Growing up in the middle of nowhere, Iowa meant living in a farming town of about 1,200 people. It taught me to work hard, treat everyone with respect, and always lend a hand—because, for the most part, everyone knew everyone. There was just one problem: I didn't want to be a farmer. Right after high school, I enlisted in the United States Navy, where that small-town work ethic turned into discipline, attention to detail, and a drive to constantly improve. After being honorably discharged, I packed up and moved to Los Angeles to chase an acting career. I've always loved making people laugh, and figured the big screen was the place to do it. Then something completely unexpected happened. For the first time in my life, I went to a rave. Not just any rave—a massive one. That night I saw Subtronics perform, and it completely changed the direction of my life. Walking out of that show, I realized music wasn't just something I enjoyed. It was the thing that had been driving me all along. The movies I love, the video games that shaped my childhood, and even the soundtrack playing in my own head all have one thing in common: incredible music. I truly believe music has the power to heal, inspire, and bring people together. Funny enough, that's always been my goal with comedy too—to make someone's day just a little bit better. In 2023, I decided to stop wondering "what if?" and fully committed to music. Since then, I've earned an Associate of Science in Music Production and currently earning my Bachelor of Science in Audio Production from the Los Angeles Film School. Whether I'm producing a track, designing sound for a game, or mixing audio for film, the goal is always the same: create something that makes people feel something. If I can help even one person experience the same feeling I had walking out of that Subtronics set, I'll know I'm on the right path.
